What is PrePay and how can I use it? PrePay is a really useful way of saving you time and money when you're booking your deliveries online. It allows you to pay into your account in advance of placing your orders and then use this credit to pay for orders, without having to put in your payment details each time. PrePay is especially useful for users who are regularly sending a lot of items. You save a few minutes each and every time you book, which soon adds up over the months and years that you'll be building your online business. It also helps you budget for your shipping in advance, relieving you of any stress that might normally be involved in financing your shipping.

How do I obtain a VAT invoice for the prepay that I have credited to my account? A link to the invoice for prepayment will be e-mailed to you once the prepayment has been made. You can also obtain this from your logged in area should you be registered. Please note however that the prepayment invoice does not contain a VAT charge. This is because VAT will be charged when you use your prepay to book the delivery. Click here to go to your account.

How do i change my account details? If you are looking to change or update your full name, contact numbers, VAT number or password then please send us a mail. Unfortunately, it is not possible to change your account email address as our orders are linked to specific email addresses. Should you wish to use a different email address for your Universal Express Delivery account then you would be required to register your new email address as a new account.

What is a courier surcharge/additional payment? A. A courier surcharge is an additional charge issued to a sender when the parcel they have sent does not match what was declared during the order process. Examples of issues that would provoke a courier surcharge include:
  • Item packaged incorrectly
  • Item weighing more than declared
  • Item dimensions exceeding those declared
The reason that couriers issue a surcharge in these cases is that items that don’t match the declared description need to be handled differently when the arrive at the depot. If items are larger than declared, they can’t be processed automatically, and therefore require manual action from a staff member at the depot. If they are packaged incorrectly, staff have to spend time repackaging the item so that it can be shipped. In these cases, the surcharge is to cover the additional labour cost involved in completed your delivery.
